Reid Nelson

Reid entered the optical industry as a contact lens representative in 1977 with American Optical. He served in management positions there before leaving to open and operate optical and contact lens labs until 1997. Afterward, Reid secured his insurance license and began developing and marketing vision plans for ophthalmology groups in Idaho, Washington and California.

Reid serves as the Managing General Agent and Managing General Underwriter for the Vision Care Direct plan system. He oversees the underwriting and sales of VCD. In addition, Nelson heads up Independent Physician Association development for new states and has helped organize 15 IPA from start-up to full operation. He is currently developing 17 more state IPAs. Reid oversees the IPA management consulting division of Nelson MADUC.

Danita Shannon

Danita comes with a background in optical & medical experience having served as a Contact Lens assistant, Billing & Claims processor, and support staff totaling 18+ years in the health care field.

Danita serves as Sales Support for Vision Care Direct. Danita prepares quotes, generates monthly renewal letters and provides professional communications for VCD.

Patricia Waldher

Pat has worked in the Optical industry since 1996 with sales experience with American Optical, Ciba Vision Care and Sola Optical. Pat has been VCD since February 2006. She has a Bachelor of Science and an MBA.

Patricia serves as the Preferred Vendor Program Coordinator for many IPAs. Her responsibilities include acting as a liaison between the vendors and the doctors, enabling doctor participation in the program, tracking sales, coordinating information distribution and managing IPA funding. In addition, Patricia works in IPA Development keeping the database and provider website up to date and accurate.

Dr. Todd Kimball

Todd has practiced optometry in a private setting since 1978. As a leader in his profession, he has developed practices in outlying communities and taken his practice to new heights. Todd began Utah Optometric Investments, a Utah based optical products buying group, and Intermountain Managed Eyecare, the Independent Provider Association in Utah. Dr. Kimball manages the Eyedox.biz (www.vcdplans.com) plan administration office in Salt Lake City.
